Start with the maximum size you can accommodate and then consider the next steps to help narrow down your options. Knowing the maximum length that can fit along the wall (or where you plan for it to be) and the maximum length that it can open into the room. We have sofas that open parallel to the wall and sofas that open perpendicular to the wall. These options ensure we have something that will fit all your measurements. For example, a sleeper sofa that opens parallel to the wall like our Movie Night allows for a generous 4 seater with a deep seat, while only opening 70" into room when opened to a bed. This keeps the floor space in front of the sofa bed more open, often eliminating the need to move even the coffee table out of the way. Our Merga is another example of a parallel sleeping sofa bed in our collection. It only comes 55" into the room when opened to a bed. If your room orientation means you have less space along the wall and more space in front of the sofa bed, a perpendicular opening sleeper sofa might be best. Our Stretch Sofa Bed is a compact loveseat that opens to a Queen size bed. It is available with arms or without arms and starts at 67" in width. It is the smallest queen size sofa bed on the market. When open to a bed, it will come 81" into the room.

Will it be in the family room where everyone gathers for movie night or will it be tucked away in the multi purpose den / office. This will help you determine the type of comfort you will want. To be clear, all our sofa beds are comfortable, your guests will sleep well on any of them. We recommend considering your needs as a sofa first and as a bed second. Let's discuss the differences as a sofa first. If you expect this to be a place to lounge and watch TV, we find most people prefer a deeper seat and a longer sofa. This allows you to curl up or lay out flat. Or Soho, Movie Night and Play (which has storage built in!) are all great options for this. If you prefer a sofa that offers more back support or prefer to sit up straight on a sofa with your feet on the ground - Stretch and Nest are what we would recommend you try.

For sleep comfort, we really feel our sofa beds all offer a superior sleeping experience. Of course everyone is different in what they look for in a mattress. Some are softer than others and some are thicker than others. Our most premium mattresses are found in Soho and Movie Night. What makes these the best sofa bed mattresses? The Soho and Movie Night sofa beds have a 10" thick mattress. It is made up of pocket coils individually encased to ensure longevity and comfort. The pocket coils are then topped with a number of layers of fibre fill and foam core to increase the sleeping comfort of your guests. Hands down, this mattress feels just like sleeping on a bed. If your guests prefer a firmer mattress, Stretch is another great option. It is a high resilient foam on top of No-Zag springs which ensure the foam maintains its shape over many years of use. Stretch is our best selling sofa bed and the mattress has been verified by thousands of happy households all across Canada.
